A separate registry
The .lviv.ua zone is administered by a separate registry (EKSINTECH LTD), not UAEPP, EUNIC or SUNIC. We don’t have a contract with the administrator yet.
Crimea and Sevastopol
Crimea, Sevastopol and Yalta are three separate zones on the UAEPP platform, not spelling variants of one name.
Frequently asked questions about geographic domains
What is a geographic domain?
A geographic .UA domain is a zone tied to a specific city or oblast, for example .ck.ua (Cherkasy) or .lutsk.ua (Lutsk). The ZRAZU catalogue lists 64 such zones, including outdated spellings closed for registration.
How is ck.ua different from cherkasy.ua?
These are different zones on the same UAEPP platform, tied to the same city — Cherkasy. .ck.ua is a two-letter code, 5 characters; .cherkasy.ua is the full name under the 2010 transliteration standard, 11 characters. Each zone’s page has a "City zones" table with every spelling.
Why can’t all geographic zones be bought?
Sales depend on a contract with the zone’s administrator. We sell zones on the UAEPP and DPNIC platforms. For EUNIC zones the terms with the administrator aren’t confirmed yet, hence “pending”. There is no contract with SUNIC or the lviv.ua administrator yet, hence “not available yet”.
