Watching

Watch a domain

There’s no such thing as a hold in any zone. “Watch” means monitoring: we’ll notify you about a status change, but anyone can register a freed-up name before you do.

How it works

  1. Find a taken name

In search or on a zone page, press “Watch” next to the domain you need.

  2. Get a release forecast

For zones on the Hostmaster platform we show a “from–to” window per the regulations: up to 30 days to renew, 30 days to restore, 5 days until deletion.

  3. Get notified of a change

The status changed or the name freed up. We write to you right away. Registering it afterwards works on the same terms as for anyone else.

Find a name to start watching

Search shows every zone’s state at once. That’s where you’ll find the “Watch” button next to a taken name.

Common questions about “Watch”

Does “Watch” hold the name?

No. There’s no hold in any zone. We only notify you about a status change. Anyone who gets there first can register the freed-up name.

How accurate is the release forecast?

It’s always “approximate”: the registry can change the timelines, and the current owner can renew right up to the last day. We show a forecast only for zones whose expiry rules we know.

Can I watch an available name?

Yes, for example, a zone we don’t sell yet. We’ll notify you when its sale status changes.
