Domain DNS diagnostics
All of a domain’s records per name server separately, so “sometimes it doesn’t work” shows up as a mismatch, not a coincidence.
What we show
- All record types
- A, AAAA, MX, TXT, CNAME, NS, with TTL in words, not only seconds.
- Per name server
- Half of outages look like “it works sometimes”: one server out of several answers with stale data.
- Delegation
- Whether the name servers at the registrar match the ones inside the zone itself.
- DNSSEC
- On or off; see the dedicated check for detail.
Frequently asked
What’s lame delegation?
A name server is listed in the delegation but doesn’t actually serve the zone. A common cause is forgetting to update the NS list after a move.
What’s TTL and why does it matter?
TTL is how long resolvers cache a record. A large TTL means changes propagate more slowly; lower it ahead of a planned move.
How is this different from the domain passport?
The passport shows a one-line summary; this is the full record table for people who need the detail.
